The chrysanthemum that

dragon-eyed
flower of funerals

that gorgeous
ragweed

that frozen
fire

long-stemmed
as grief

This must be one of your form poems. It’s not my cup of tea, and I especially am bothered by the title. Perhaps if you gave us an intro, so we’d know what you were thinking by posting this? Sorry.

It’s not a traditional form, though I’ve put some formal constraints on it.

There’s not much to introduce, really. It’s not part of a longer manuscript or a bigger project, and it doesn’t depend on any particular bit of knowledge.

It’s not really even a whole poem, but rather the most promising fragment from yesterday’s scribbling. Something raw and rough, to capture “first thought” power, in the hopes of someday harnessing that power to some good work.
