Recommending Sisyphus

I don't usually log the web here in my weblog, but today I wanted to recommend the astonishing poem that was up at Poetry Daily yesterday, "Sisyphus and the Sudden Lightness," by Stephen Dunn. (Sisyphus is the fellow who was condemed to roll a rock up a hill for all eternity.)

I admired the use of the known story as a richness under a new story -- and I love the moment of transformation at the end. This is what I'd like to do with my Bibilical Voices -- but I fear I rarely manage.

I'm tempted to buy the book, but will try to restrain myself. Starving Artist and all that.
