Ghost Maps -- the first launch details
It looks as if Ghost Maps will actually exist. I can hardly believe it.
I met my editor and her assistant at W&W today, after working with them at a distance for a year. Everything is set now except a handful of minor edits -- all my idea -- layout and design. The book goes to print in May.
Launch will be in September; there will be a launch in KW and in Toronto, and some readings round and about. Hamilton and London. Probably Ottawa and Montreal. (Elsewhere? I get transportation but not housing, so I'm more or less limited to places where I know people. And unfortunately that's mostly here in Ontario. I'd love to get a bit further afield.)
May also put my nose in at Book Expo and Word on the Street.
I'm excited. Heck. Giddy.

I can get you a place to stay within a bit of a drive or train to NYC. I can work on contacts here as well if need be. At the very least, I can buy 100 copies and try and distribute them strategically via relatives who may know people.
What about Omaha or is it just being released in Canada for now?
The Literary Press Group has some limited distribution in the States, so my American friends and family should be able to round up a copy of Ghost Maps without too much trouble.
Paid travel for readings is funded by the Canada Council and therefore is confined to Canada.
Want me to see what I can wrangle here in Sudbury? I’m at the U and our English and Humanities programmes would probably be very interested if you’re available to come up during the next academic term (September-April).
This sounds more and more exciting. You know where you can crash in Ottawa and Montreal, anyway.
