Another Monster Poem
If you're a small monster, you should know about people
It's just that they're silly, and not that they're evil
They may point right at you, they may shout "What's that!"
They may set upon you with dogs, bats and cats
They may jump on chairs and wiggle their fingers
Or call the police or throw up their dinners
They may dance around like their feet are too hot
Or fetch the flyswatter and give you a swat
It's just that they're startled, don't know what to do
They're never seen anything quite like a You
You know that to people you must look quite strange
Their skin's all one colour (though they come in a range)
They've only got fur in one or two places
And all of their noses are right on their faces
They don't have your feathers, they don't have your fins
They've got one row of teeth so no snaggley grins
They're ears don't fold up and there's only two eyes
(So sneaking behind them can lead to surprise)
So you must consider if they see you there
With your eyes like four suns and your legs like a chair
With your wings all stretched out and covered with spots
With your web feet that squeak like a nose full of snot --
Well, they may shout and scream, they may act like they're goosed
It's only because you've not been introduced

I love this! Not been introduced, eh? Chortle
