Orphaned poems
Let us now have a little gulp of mourning for poems that might not make it into Thunder, including
- "Sarah and the Seven Grooms"
- "The Book of Hours"
- the dark psalms, especially the cursing psalm 109, but also "De Profundis," and "The Water"
- all those little fragment poems, including "Henini," "Gabriel," and "Breathing Lesson."
- Chalcedony, Chrysoprase, Lapis, Onyx

I love “The Book of Hours”. I mourn.
Hey! Why not De profundis? I think that’s a great one.
